2026-01-08 23:33

On January 8, the Chinese Embassy in South Sudan hosted the third Chinese Cultural Festival and film screening event of Nezha: Birth of the Demon Child. Ms. Huo Ying, Deputy Chief of the Mission, Counsellor Li Wancheng, and staff from the Chinese Medical Team in South Sudan attended the event. Approximately 70 local youths participated, including children from the Na-bari Community and Confident Children Out of Conflict Orphanage.

The children enthusiastically engaged in the embassy's thoughtfully designed Chinese cultural activities. Under the  guidance of staff members from the Embassy, they learned to write Chinese characters stroke by stroke, practiced making Jiaozi by hand, and watched with keen interest as the Chinese medical team demonstrated traditional Chinese massage before eagerly giving it a try themselves. During the fun Chinese language session, the children showed great enthusiasm for learning, repeating phrases such as “hello”, “thank you”, “goodbye”, and “I love China”.

The subsequent film screening brought the atmosphere to a peak, with frequent laughter and applause throughout the show.

In November and December 2025, Amb. Ma Qiang and the leadership of the Embassy attended two Chinese Culture Festival events, both of which won warm responses.
