On January 20, the handover ceremony of agricultural machinery donated by the Chinese enterprise Zhaotai Group to the Azande Kingdom was held in Juba, the capital of South Sudan. H.E. Ambassador Ma Qiang, Mrs. Huo Ying, Deputy Chief of Mission, H.M. Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue, King of the Azande Kingdom, Hon. Pia Philip Michael, Undersecretary of Ministry of Peace Building, and more than 80 other guests attended the event.

Ambassador Ma stated that, in order to implement the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit, the Chinese Embassy and institutions have taken active steps. The donation from Zhaotai Group demonstrates the responsibility and commitment of Chinese enterprises. It is expected that the machinery will help the Azande Kingdom increase grain production and improve the lives of its people.

H.M. Atoroba Peni Rikito Gbudue and other representatives from Azande community expressed gratitude for China’s long-term selfless assistance to South Sudan and appreciated Zhaotai Group for its generous donation. They emphasized that the machinery would bring good harvests, peace, and stability, and the people of the Azande Kingdom would never forget this gesture of goodwill.

During the event, H.E. Ambassador Ma presented the English editions of the fifth volume of “Xi Jinping: The Governance of China” to the South Sudanese side. The handover ceremony received strong support from China State Construction Engineering Corporation’s team of Phase II of the renovation and expansion of Juba Teaching Hospital.
