On March 4, H.E. Ambassador Ma Qiang met with Hon. Mary Nawai Martin, Minister of Youth and Sports of South Sudan,discussing sports exchanges and cooperation between China and South Sudan.  

Ambassador Ma congratulated Hon. Mary Nawai Martin on her recent assumption of office and expressed that the Embassy is ready to work with the Ministry of Youth and Sports to actively implement the important consensus reached by Chinese President Xi Jinping and South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit, and continuously deepen bilateral cooperation in the fields of youth and sports.  

Hon. Mary Nawai Martin thanked China for its long-standing support and assistance to South Sudan, noting that 72% of South Sudan's population is youth, and the development of youth and sports is of vital importance to promoting peace and stability in the country. She expressed hopes for China’s continued strong support in these areas.
