Chinese Embassy in South Sudan Hosts “Tripartite Mechanism Meeting” for the Consular Protection

The Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of South Sudan hosted "Tripartite Mechanism Meeting" for the Consular Protection on June 24, 2026. H.E. Ambassador Ma Qiang attended the event and delivered keynote remarks. Lt.Gen. Thomas Jal Thomas, Deputy Inspector General of Police, graced the meeting as the Guest of Honor and delivered a speech.

Over 40 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from the South Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Trade and Industry, National Police Service, Directorate of Civil Registry, Nationality, Passports and Immigration, National Security Service, National Revenue Authority, Juba City Council, as well as from Chinese enterprises and communities in South Sudan.

The participating parties commended the “Tripartite Mechanism” for its positive role that has played since the establishment, engaged in frank communication and in-depth exchanges regarding the difficulties and issues encountered by Chinese citizens and enterprises in South Sudan in areas such as customs clearance, tax collection, and business operations, and unanimously agreed to use the “Tripartite Mechanism” as a platform to strengthen communication and coordination, enhance mutual trust and understanding, foster a more favorable investment and business environment for Chinese citizens and enterprises in South Sudan, effectively safeguard the safety and legitimate rights and interests of them, jointly advance practical cooperation and people-to-people friendship between China and South Sudan, and promote South Sudan’s economic and social progress and development.
